Powabyke is growing... and fast!

Powabyke is one of the longest serving brands of electric bike in the UK having been around since 1999 and has survived ups and downs and all the market pressures and 'what's that?' comments that can be thrown at an innovation before it is recognised. This year perhaps, more than any other, the ebike is riding a wave that is gathering momentum and turning a product into a phenomenon beyond UK shores. With distribution deals brokered in the Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark and the US the Powabyke brand is looking charged and ready to roll!

But looking at the rest of the world ebikes always had the right ingredients to become something bigger - green, money saving and fun etc. What is really exciting is that car dealerships are now looking at stocking them as a compliment to their range of cars. This is happening now and we can verify that at the Powabyke HQ. We already knew from research that people were buying the bikes for commuting to work but when car dealerships 'get it' then this is a sign of real change for the market.

You may have noticed that we are selling out of the XLS so apologies for delays in orders for some of you out there - they are on the way - we promise - new containers have been arranged.

This brings me to a very important point - when the snows were thick at Christmas time and when the New year began the phones at Powabyke HQ were quiet and the bike industry started trade much like a grizzly bear coming out of hybination with a sleepy and sore head. One dealer was quoted to say in Bike Biz magazine February was 'double shite with knobs on', which summed it all up nicely.

And then, like the doors opening to an Ikea sale, everyone decided it was time to buy at once, for the Spring, and the new bikes were as popular as free beer. Our advice is 'get in early' when it comes to orders and that's not just marketing talk, it will put you in front of the queue and get you those bikes you need! We are increasing our shipments and we are adjusting to the growth but please put your orders in as early as you can.
